Working in teams, I feel has taught me the most about myself and the role I play. My last class project is a great example. There were four members on the team, and we had to complete a social media campaign for a local ice cream shop in the Champaign-Urbana area. Our goal was to improve their social media presence to increase traffic and revenue. The project consisted of making an audience analysis, social media mock posts, KPI (key performance indicator) sheet, and a social media policy. Sounds exciting right? The process to completion was a bumpy road, but we made it! I also want to say I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to experience this, for I know how to handle obstacles in a team setting properly.
First, I had to make a contract, so everyone would be on the same accord. We then came to an agreement on how we would split the tasks: who was in charge of what? When the team was falling behind, I would be the one to remind everyone of our goals and weekly tasks. I would coordinate Zoom meetings weekly to check in on the progress; also, the team would express any confusion or frustrations we had, so we would elaborate on ideas together to complete the campaign to the best of our abilities. We got a good grade, and our presentation was smooth and concise. Overall, I learned that I am a leader, and I possess the emotional intelligence to deal with challenges in a professional manner.
I am known for being the life of the party with my positive energy and sense of humor. I bet I can make you laugh :) Oh and I don't sugarcoat things, so if you want someone to tell you truth about a situation. I am a message away.
I love reading, traveling, and pampering myself. You probably guessed it, I love going to social events and meeting new people also.
